On (or around) March 20 the first day of spring, thousands of caring people in all 50 US states and two dozen other countries host informative and educational Meatout events. Activities include colorful 'lifestivals,' street theater, lectures, public dinners, feed-ins, cooking demos, food samplings, leafleting, information tables and more.

The occasion is Meatout, the world's largest and oldest annual grassroots diet education campaign. Every spring, thousands of Meatout supporters educate their communities and ask their friends, families, and neighbors to pledge to "kick the meat habit (at least for a day) and explore a vegan diet of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains."

The Richmond Vegetarian Festival is a fun and free annual festival in Richmond, Virginia. It has been held every year since 2003 and is 100% organized by volunteers. One of Richmond's great outdoor summer festivals, it's a lot of fun no matter your interest or background - there's something for everyone! Lots of great vendors that showcase the resources available in the local area, a ton of great live music, speakers, food demonstrations, and of course some of the best food you'll ever taste. All for free - can't beat it for a fun summer day. Whether or not you're vegetarian - it's fun for everyone! Among the crowd of 10,000 to 12,000 that come out every year, the majority are non-vegetarians.

Come share the spirit of peace, love and truth in the Cathedral of Nature. This is an absolutely free and non-commercial event depending upon your participation and support. No money is exchanged except contributions given freely to the Magic Hat. Our bank council maintains open books for inspection. Bring truth, love and happiness. Bring large pots and pans, water containers, food-grade 5 gal. buckets, tarps and tents, and bulk food and organic produce for our communal KITCHENS. Bring your best friends. Bring instruments and make home grown MUSIC. Bring TOOLS such as shovels, picks, buckets, rope, hatchets, axes, hoedads (great for digging latrines!), etc. Bring your children and fun supplies, and prepare for shared, creative and magical CHILDCARE. Bring LARGE SHELTERS and tarps if you have them. Most of all, bring your SELF. We are a tribe of volunteers and the work in making each gathering happen and cleaning up afterward is shared by all of us. On paper, gatherings are vegetarian and the kitchens are supposed to serve vegan food, but occasionally some meals served at the festival are not vegetarian.

The 6th Annual Tampa Bay Veg Fest,the Tampa Bay area's only vegetarian/vegan festival, will make its return Saturday, November 7, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Veg Fest will take place at Cotanchobee Fort Brooke Park, in a beautiful setting on the Hillsborough River in downtown Tampa. The park is conveniently located across the street and to the south of the Amalie Arena. Parking is available in the adjacent South Regional Parking Garage, located at 301 Channelside Drive. Over 4,000 people attended last year's event, and this year's festival promises to be bigger and better. The event, presented by Florida Voices for Animals, will feature local restaurants with vegetarian and vegan food; Films, live music and entertainment; fun and games for kids; healthy-living and eco-friendly exhibitors; info on local nonprofits; animal adoptions; cooking demonstrations; and well-known national and local guest speakers.
