The Inn (pronounced nee-ah-ta-wan-ta) was
built around the turn of the century and
opened in 1906 as the Sunrise Inn. The Inn
is located on Old Mission Peninsula, just
north of Traverse City, with 325 feet of
beach on Bowers Harbor -- Grand Traverse
Bay. Vegetarian breakfasts are served, and
a wood-burning sauna is housed in the
building behind the Inn. The Neahtawanata
Center, a nonprofit organization, is also
housed at the Inn. A one hour Yoga session
is also available to guests staying at the
Neahtawanta Inn upon request for $10
class. No smoking inside the Inn.
